Pretty cool video, although if it's taken from chessmaster, then it's not going to be up much longer. Could someone confirm whether or not this is from chessmaster?

If it isn't, nice work OP, AMAZING VID!

Hi, thanks for the compliments. No, the lesson isn't from Chessmaster, it's just a bunch of positions I collected and put together, but it's nice somebody considered it to be of that quality. This was my first try at a video, so there's still some rough edges to be worked out.

Thanks to the people who make this site possible.

I enjoyed watching your video. The final study was very interesting, and you did a good job explaining the variations. The only thing that I didn't like was the chessboard. In one of the positions there was a black pawn at c7 that was hard to see at first. I suggest that you use a 2D chessboard next time. It's just easier to see the board clearly. Thanks again for the great video. I'm looking forward to the next one.

A (non video) lesson about the same subject can be found at the square rule, which is one of the lessons at Chess Teaching

Excellent video. Very instructive and very well-explained! A+. :)

Something sadistic in me suggests tacking on the Lacker-Reichelm Position but unfortunately the square doesn't apply here. :D
