I was rather surprised about the study author, because I knew that one being from Guljajev.
In fact the position was published by Blandford 1949 and Guljajev 1956 both giving the identical solution... according to van der Heijden's study base.

Thanks Zeitnotakrobat! I will definitely continue with the series after a break- I just have other stuff I want to get to. As far as the two identical studies, it's possible that it is simply a coincidence, given that the position is relatively simple and the play relatively forcing. On the other hand, considering that the endgame study world is a relatively small one, it's difficult to believe that most of the composers aren't aware of each other's work.

I'll miss the series, I found it enjoyable to say the least. I do like your idea of coffee house chess openings. I have a friend who loves these quirky openings and I have faced many Latvians, Elephant Gambits, Jerome Gambits, Paris Gambits et al. They can be a lot of fun in blitz games.
