Wow! Great analysis. I would have never seen the Queen move. I'm going to have to study that position for a while to truly understand the aspects involved. Thanks a bunch, definitely worth the wait!!!!

After move 7. the structure is very similar to some variations in the grand prix attack in the Sicilian. With the obvious difference being that c5 hasn't been played. With that said, the main moves in that position, (which I've reached very similar positions many times) are Qe1, preparing Qg3 (or Qh4 if the Dark squared bishop is fianchettoed) and f5. which is also possible. f5 cuts the Black pieces away from the king side and gives White some opportunity to attack the Black King.

What happens after...

18. Nxe5 c5
19. Ng6 Kf7

and both pieces are hanging. I think black wins 2 pieces for the rook and 2 pawns. or White wins the rook and 2 pawns for the pieces. not sure who is better there. wait, make that a rook and 3 pawns for 2 pieces. and i think white is clearly better.

20. Nxf8 cxb4 (the Knight is trapped on f8)
21. Qxb4 Kxf8
22. Rxf4

hmmm, its interesting.

EDIT: wait, i looked at it again, c5 looks to be a mistake, the tactics almost work, but not quite.

Wait. let me try this.

18. Nxe5 c5
19. Ng6 Re8

now the bishop is trapped.

this is a mess
