Re: KingsBlade - Stockton vs KingsBlade 2 [11:27]
well, it would be awesome if we find a way to save the knight... i wish i could find one.
there are some funny lines with the move: 6. Qe5 pinning the the pawn to the king for example: 6. Qe5 Nc6 7. Bb5 f6 8. Qh5+ g6 9. Qe2 and black can't take the knight because 10. exd5+ winning the knight back...
but this is not forced at all and i don't know what to do after 6. Qe5 f6

Re: KingsBlade - Stockton vs KingsBlade 2 [11:27]
I was very suprised by c5. Since 3. Nc3 is the main line I expected to see dxe4 continuing the main line. I tried to outright refute c5 which was a mistake. Bd7 doesn't win the piece because I can play Nc3 and My bishop is protected by my knight. grr. 7. Qe3 i think saves the knight. I take back with check and the knight can block the check because it is pinned! ugh. bad.
I didn't really have a choice of whether to trade queens or not. You can force queens off or win the exchange in the corner. (why i overlooked the trapped rook in the corner one move later is beyond me. I have 3 pawns for the piece and if I can get them rolling im good. but once I dropped the exchange Im busted. On top of the fact that I was out of time.
enjoy it while you have it. I will crush you the next time we play.

ahh, i was soo close saving the knight.
thank you stockton for showing me how it actually works. kind of a similar idea as mine, but somehow i stuck to this Qe5 move, which doesn't work.

Well played! Pity about Bf4 allowing Bxg2. Actualy before this blunder Stocton had three pawns for the piece and good counter chances. But a win is a win. Very impressed that you saw the pins and counter pins especially at such a fast time limit.. Tactics usually wins out at our level.
