Thanks for watching. I wish there were others on this site who played the stonewall and made videos. I would find it very interesting and surely it would be helpful as well.

[quote="KingsBlade"]Bullrock,
What lead you to the Stonewall (books, players, etc.) and why exactly do you like it? I am thinking about trying some new openings.

On the free internet chess server (FICS) there are often chess lectures being held. One of these lectures featured the stonewall attack. I noticed that the basic setup of the stonewall was very easy to learn and so I started playing with it. But, at that time, I was absolutely terrible at tactics because my board vision was horrible. So, I stopped playing it and instead tried the English opening. But, I found that the English is definitely not for a beginner (too many variations). While I'm still not great at tactics or board vision, I must say that I have significantly improved (I'm 1700+ on standard at chesstempo.com) since those early days (just a few months ago...lol) and now the stonewall goes much better for me. I would really like to see you play it a little to see how you like it.

Here is a website showing a chess master playing the stonewall. Unfortunately every game shown starts 1. d4 1...d5 but, they are still entertaining games and show that the stonewall can be played at a very high level. http://www.kenilworthchessclub.org/game ... aacovn.htm

For those interested in the Stonewall I'd recommend Mat Pullin's videos on You Tube. He has an excellent series of vids called 'Stonewall Legacy'. He is an excellent annotator and analyist. Here's the link. http://www.youtube.com/user/GreenCastleBlock

Yes, Matt Pullin's videos on the stonewall are very well made and are very informative. He has not posted any videos where he actually plays the stonewall which is unfortunate since actual games are always more valuable, at least in my opinion.
