No probs Simon. I agree with Zibbits comments. It's unlikely that a series of blitz games will see you dramatically improve. Blitz and OTB chess, at much longer time limmits, are completely different. It also takes quite a long time to actually improve. In fact some players don't improve for years. Analysing your own OTB games is a very good way to learn tho.
Another thing is to get a decent chess engine. FRITZ11, Shredder Crafty or RIBKA. I think your using Chessmaster. When I put my games through Shredder I'm always amazed how much I missed during the game. The other thing is that when we make a move during a game which we think is really strong, afterwards the engine points out that is was very poor, such as Bxh3??. I played a game a year or so ago and thought I played very well winning an excellent game. I was going to send it off to the Chess Scotland magazine. I put it thro Shredder, when I played my brilliant move it noted that my opponent had a mate in 1! which he missed!!
So good luck in the tournament. What is it and what section are you playing in?

Hey Simon I couldn't find your results as there were so many sections. I looked at the Middlesex results U15 but couldn't see your name. How did you get on?
