 Re: KingsBlade Chess
I am new, but I have a question. When you play in FICS and ICC, do you set up a board and tournament conditions or do you just play on the computer screen? I think you can seriously improve if you take it seriously and set up tournament conditions. I broke 1900 in FICS like 4 years ago, and it was because of this small thing I think. Are you Kingsblade in both sites?

 Re: KingsBlade Chess
I see, in other words your probably a life blitz player? My suggestion is to just do tactics. Cause to tell you the truth, true strength comes with the things your saying you hate. You kind of almost have to look at common positions and learn how to analyze them. In quick games, the most important thing is learning how to play aggressive, while not dropping pieces. Usually playing a blitz game is just a matter of not dropping pieces. I was once told this by a 1900-2000 FICS rated blitz player. He told me actually that the only thing you need to get to 1900+ is not drop pieces. Of course that is an exaggeration, but in a way he has a point. Most of the blitz is not dropping pieces, the rest is positional play and combinations.

 Re: KingsBlade Chess
110% true I win 3m games playing Nf3Ng1 like 10 tempos and then i start with stuff like e3 d3 castle etc if I don't hang pieces Ill win easy anyone below the 2000 in playchess, aggressive play will 99% of the times make players below 2100 hang lots of material so if you grab it youl end up winning aggressive is an advantage as long as you don't hang pieces, but you really need to be able to play simple endings really fast to win like K and pawn vs K t he opposition or even R+pawn vs R harder but necessary, tactis is a must to every chess player I must recomend consistent tactics training, if you leave training for some time youl loose everything you learn really fast
