8) Thanks for Visiting 8)

I am winding down from a long period of chess playing, that is, playing and not studying or watching any videos other than my own. I have decided to slow down my game play and video analysis and begin another period of "book" study. I hope to be more active in the forums and videos sections on cvtv and less active on Chess.com. I do want to keep playing Saturday games with gw and probably go back to some ICC blitz games :)

I want to first take a bit of a break from playing games and come back with a more serious approach to winning, that is, to play quality chess instead of quantity chess.

I am back to reading a book by Tim Harding called Better Chess for Average Players. The first part was sort of easy where I could just sit and read it, but now it is getting a little more involved and it looks like I will need to play around on a board (real or Fritz... maybe both). Anyway, I find the book just the right "speed" for me at my level. I hope to read the whole book

I also want to do some more endgame work as well as study some basic work on opening ideas on the openings I have been playing.

Finally, I am seriously considering taking some private lessons from a local chess coach. I must interview him first to see if I think he is the right coach for me. I would first want him to teach me how to analyze postitions, searching for plans and strategies based on imbalances etc. I think I need help with basic middlegame strategies.

Well, that's all for now... PLay Well!

****Thanks for visiting****

While I am still on a chess break, I have another idea for a new video series. Instead of KB Blunders, I am going to do "KB's AWAC Game Series". So when I return from break, I will begin the new series. See you then!

Oh, what does AWAC stand for? I am afraid you will just have to guess! I will never tell.

No, of course it doesn't stand for "Airborne Warning and Control" nor does it represent "Alain Winandy Assessoria e Consultoria" (Portugese). It stands for something chessic though, and I am looking forward to sharing my new series with those who wish to watch (and participate)...hehehe. :bom:

Play Well!

Post Re: KingsBlade Chess
gw,

Trying to understand Chess is like trying to understand the Universe.

I am enjoying my "floating" break from Chess. My mind has been "unshackled" from it's bind. I feel weightless and free. With this freedom, I travel through the (apparent) vacuum of free space near the speed of light do to the accelerating speed of the expanding "Big Bang" universe.

Ok, so while I am floating near the speed of light, I am still experiencing a normal clock time, while you, planted firmly on the Chessic earth, are experiencing a time dilation. Don't let this time warp get to you. Even though we actually may exist within a Black Hole itself, we still experience the same physics.

It follows Einsteins Theory of Relativity that; Chess as an entity (as explained below), and being 4 dimentional, effects the "Spacetime" contimuum. How? Ok, it's really quite simple especially since I really don't need to get into supersymmetric string theory.

Chess, as a form of energy, can be converted into matter through Einsteins E=mc2. Now once we convert Chess from energy to matter, then, we can apply Al's General Theory of Relativity. Chess, now having mass, tells spacetime what to do and then spacetime tells matter (you) how to act which explains the apparent "invisible" force (or pull) that chess has on us mere orbiting mass of molecules, better know as chess mortals. Ok, now once we enter the warped spacetime of Chess, then we can dig deeper into it's physics.

Now, with this understood and without getting into dark matter or dark energy, we can take a quick look at the Chaos Theory. Within this theory you will find the "Butterfly Effect". This may be where your trouble lies. I suggest you do a little research on this topic. It may help you with your chessic madness.

You can start here, but take Wiki with a grain of salt:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_effect

Hey KB^^

Wow! I didnt expect such a complex answer. Seems like you are having a good time atm =P
Having read and understood the articles you suggested about chaos theory and the butterfly effect I am now fully aware of my problem. The simple announcement of a new Kingbslade series caused an overwhelming excitement or as my ol' friend used to say: "My wits begin to turn." / "The tempest in my mind Doth from my senses take all feeling else Save what beats there." - I have to admit that he sometimes is a little bit weird, so dont blame his choice of words on me ^^
As you have revealed to me that my Ying and Yang seem out of balance and I need to relax a bit in order to restore harmony and my Wu-Wei, I will try to be patient.

May I hope that we both might meet in space and time on saturday though ?

I also want to add:
Merry Christmas , Kingsblade ! :)

Ah yes, King Lear: "O let me not be mad, not mad, sweet heaven" or how about Hamlet's: "O God, I could be bounded in a nutshell, and count myself a king of infinite space—were it not that I have bad dreams".

If your "Wu-Wei" is out of sync, you might try practicing "Feng shui" and finally, don't forget Iogo's words: "How poor are they that have not patience"!

Merry Christmas to You and Yours My Friend :santa: :rendeer: :rendeer: :rendeer: :rendeer: :rendeer: :rendeer: :rendeer: :rendeer: :rendeer:

PS: I will tell you what the acronym "A.W.A.C." stands for if you really want to know. If I give you a clue you will figure it out... let me think, how about this hint: The videos will not be of live games, they will be replays only. I don't want to say anymore, but I tell you what my friend, I will start the series this weekend. 8)

When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
But I have become comfortably numb.
