Not all Opposite-Colored Bishop endings are drawn!!
In reality, a better title for the subject of this post would be: "Playing on and making your opponent hold the draw in an opposite colored Bishop ending."
This uninspiring effort is my Round 1 game from my recent tournament. In spite of the large rating difference, I did not do a very good job of creating imbalances, which would create winning chances. Before long, I found myself hoping to create winning chances in an opposite-colored Bishop middlegame, but this only wound down to an ending. Fortunately, by this time I had accumulated a few advantages (advanced passed pawn, one-pawn advantage) that warranted playing on and hoping to outplay my opponent in the ending. I was fortunate to do this and get the full point in this game.
I analyzed this ending for a couple hours this evening. I'll post some of this analysis later, but give anyone who is interested a chance to do some on their own. See if you can pinpoint the moment where White is lost.
