Re: Stockton's Training Journal....The road to the top
Labor Day tournament was great. 33 showed up.
congratulations to FM Pedram Atoufi for taking down 1st place and the $153 that came with it. Pedram went 5.5/6 with his missing half point from taking a first round half point bye.

launching new club website. Valley Chess is launching a new website. (not complete yet, but functioning) Took a little bit since I know nothing about building sites and I know zero HTML. Anyway, it's coming along pretty well. Haven't purchased a domain yet, so using google sites for now. Will have a domain in a week or 2 probably. https://sites.google.com/site/valleychess/check it out and tell me what you guys think so far.

Re: Stockton's Training Journal....The road to the top
I'm back again. Been a really long time. Lots of new stuff I guess. I've stopped playing poker since the shutdown of Full Tilt and PokerStars. Started up a business centered around Starcraft 2 coaching. http://www.hotkeyit.com So I've been really busy with that. Sorta starting to get some time back so I figured I'd jump back into chess again. Haven't looked at a chess board in about a year or so. I set up a justin.tv account and set up my computer to live stream whenever I am playing online or just studying stuff (or usually a combination). I invite you all to stop by any time. I also stream my Starcraft 2 play so if you want to come hang out and check that out too you are all welcome. I'll try to post here every time I go live with the stream. I think I'll try to talk about the chess stuff as much as possible as to keep it entertaining. http://www.justin.tv/suitguy

Re: Stockton's Training Journal....The road to the top
No, I don't play. I don't even own a copy of the game but I do follow the major stuff like GSL, MLG and Dreamhack. Just like to watch it. Much better than most of the stuff the TV channels have to offer Sort of undecided atm. GSL or Fide World Cup.... will probably switch streams every few mins =P

Re: Stockton's Training Journal....The road to the top
So I played some chess OTB yesterday. 2 wins and 2 losses in a 4 round G/30 Swiss.
I actually ended up winning the under 2000 prize. I didn't play great but I didn't play awful or anything like that. It was a tough field in which I was the 2nd lowest rated player out of 10. So a score of 2/4 isn't bad. I picked up a few rating points, nothing huge but better than losing them.

Sup guys? I played again tonight
Went 4-0 all against stronger players. Rating should go up about 90 points to an all time high of 1960ish
