The volume is way way low - are others experiencing this?

It's a goof on my part. I've re-recorded the video and am uploading it now; hopefully it'll replace this one later tonight.

The video version in this thread should now be fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience!

"Can you hear me now?" Yeah!
I appreciate you sharing your views on this, I play this line as White once in a blue moon but have never really given it a whole lot of thought, just something to throw a 'theory monster' off the scent.

Re: Dennis M: Quick Ruy XXVI: Qe2 Systems [34:48]
I admit to skipping through the latter part of the video, but I was hoping for coverage of 5.Qe2 b5 6.Bb3 Be7 7.a4 This looks awkward for Black to meet (at least to me, over the board). I had this in a game, and was worried by, for example, 7...Bb7 8.axb5 axb5 9.Rxa8 Qxa8 10.Nc3 (and 11.Nd5) My assessment was probably wrong, as Black appears to have 10...Na5 However it wasn't easy to face White's system when it came as a surprise. Was 7.a4 mentioned at all? If so, I missed it.

Re: Dennis M: Quick Ruy XXVI: Qe2 Systems [34:48]
@mleonard: Unfortunately, I have to be selective, and after 6...Be7 there are more than 3000 games with 7.0-0 and over 1100 with 7.c3. 7.a4, by contrast, appears only 200 times. That's not much consolation when you're in that 200, but it's impossible to study everything. Anyway, the situation is a lot like the anti-Marshall with 8.a4 (you might want to watch that video for more) in that Black has the basic choice between 7...Rb8 (ceding the a-file without getting anything in return), 7...Bb7 and 7...b4.
After 7...Bb7 8.axb5 (8.c3 and 8.d3 - trying to neutralize the fianchettoed bishop - are also possible) 8...axb5 9.Rxa8 Qxa8 10.Nc3 you're quite possibly right that 10...Na5 is best, when White may even be worse. But even the obvious, "chicken" move 10...b4 should be fine: 11.Nd5 Nxd5 12.Bxd5 (12.exd5 Na5 13.Qxe5 0-0 and White is in biiiiig trouble) 12...Bf6 13.0-0 0-0 and Black is fine.
This seems fine, but I'm probably inclined to meet 7.a4 with 7...b4, just as in the 8.a4 Anti-Marshall. White doesn't get the a-file and doesn't get c3 for his knight. It weakens c4, but that's something Black can absorb.

Re: Dennis M: Quick Ruy XXVI: Qe2 Systems [34:48]
Thanks Dennis. One thing for readers to take note of is that 5.Qe2 b5 6.Bb3 Be7 7.a4 b4 8.d4 carries the very nasty (and unusual) threat of Qc4 It looks like 8...d5 is forced here.
