what makes you think i was White in the referenced game? :P

no, i was black, and both sides had 3 minutes left. white started a blunderfest with Ba7+ and went on to lose. i count this game as a loss since i clearly deserved to lose. Qxc7+ is game over, as we found in the post-mortem.

Well, since chess is played by mere mortals who make mistakes, generally whoever actually loses the game is the one who "deserved" to lose it... :) Neither of you saw 1. Qxc7+ OTB. No shame in that since there was little time left and it isn't an easy thing to find. It took me more than three minutes to find it in the low stress environment of my office -- and I might not have found it at all if it wasn't posted in a forum entitled "Chess Puzzles."

Anyway, it was a cool position. Thanks for sharing!

Another tense position from my game (a different game, played the following week)!!! Again i am black and getting rocked. Opponent is a 2097-rated player who sacked 2 pawns to reach this position. White to move.
