Post Handle the attack well (a very difficult puzzle)
Image

This is a game between me vs sweetarianna (on FICS). My opponent played a bunch of bad moves against the smith morra and we reached this position. White is down a pawn but has a roaring intiative as well as a beautiful position. Black's last move was Ke8-d8 to stop Nc7+. Consider this position and HOW does white win? It was actually very difficult for me. I screwed up this position and got a dead equal position. To rant a bit, my opponent was insistent on flagging me and achieved her goal (from a dead equal position)

Anyway, post your suggestions, and I will reveal the correct series of moves that allow white to win.

Brilvis: Do not fear! I had the same thinking as you in the game (I was playing real bad that day). I played Qd6? expecting Nge7. After that, white does win with Nc7 Rb8 Bxe6 or Nxe6. Still, you must take a look of your opponent's possibilities. After Nf6, the rook covers f8 and Nc7 is no longer a threat. The e-pawn is also hanging. Black is also ready to play Ne8 to cure some dark-squared problems. After Nd6 Nf6, there is no threat to the e4 pawn. Although white is still better, this is not the way to go.
I guess this shows why katar is rated so much higher, he comes up with good attacking ideas. Normally I am doing allright with making threat after threat in the intiative and can win those positions, but often not these quiet "build-up" positions. Nd6 is a good move. Attacking f7 is the idea.
There are three good moves in this position: Rad1, Nd6 and Qf4, all with the idea of building up or piling pressure on f7.
