Wow, that's funny that you played one of your viewers. I'll have to start entering the five minute pool when you're playing.
Interesting opening stuff, as usual. I was surprised you said that line where white takes on c6 was better for black. But, I'll take your word for it
All the talk about transpositions was confusing at times, but fascinating. I have lots of trouble visualizing ideas when I'm playing a position that I'm familiar with (with the exception that the colors are reversed).
The line where white gets in Nf5 are really nice. All this analysis is making me want to play the English.
Thanks for the video.

Whoooa Josh. I never once said the line where we take on c6 is better for black, unless I misspoke somehow. I'm pretty sure its relatively nice for white.
Anyway for all those who want, you should make sure to watch the game I played against pokerpicard to see the similarities in the positions.

Oh sorry about the confusion. I actually typed that comment while watching. Bxc6 comes up several times in the game. In the later positions, Bxc6 is great for you. However, I was referring to one position (near the very beginning of the video), where you showed a line where Bxc6 seems attractive for white, but it isn't (as you explain). I probably should've mentioned the move number, but I didn't realize Bxc6 was going to be such a thematic idea throughout the game.

Okay....even in that line though, I wouldn't say that it's good for black. It's just a line, where black has some play for the pawn. I think theory favors white however, but still very playable for black. Maybe Kasparov lost a game in that line to Piket once? Can't remember, but I know Kasparov lost with white in the Rubinstein to Piket in some line.

in the position at 03:11, have you ever played your novelty (on move 6) yet?
you didn't say what move it was, just said you had a novelty in that position.
