Notice the stars to the right of the title. I give this game 3 stars. I may be somewhat biased towards games I win :)

Once again the opening theory discussion was great.

12.e3 was an interesting idea. I was thinking about 11...e5, and I couldn't find anything great for white, but your move looks really good. Are you planning on putting your bishop on a3 in some lines?

14.Be2 was great! Especially coupled with the a4 idea. I'm glad I found both moves, although probably only because you were talking about white having powerful moves after Rf7.

Your bishops are beautiful after 20.Ba3. Lots of fantastic tactical possibilities. Be7 near the end was a nice finesse.

Fascinating game! I think the fact that your opponent only made a few subtle mistakes makes it all the more interesting that you won so quickly. This could easily be part of a lecture on the strength of the two bishops.

Dunno what I was planning exactly after 12. e3, just seemed like a relatively solid position for white, although I mentioned a few ways in the video how black could improve (simply ...nd7 instead of f5). However my position is always ok, its just difficult to make any kind of effective pawn breaks for white if black just plays normally. Probably I'd play some stuff like a4, Ba3, Rb1 etc but who definitely it's playable for black.

Thanks for the video :thumright: The bishops were really impressive

And concerning your opening you were right. White does go Ne5 and f4. I've seen an annotated game by Anatoly Karpov in this line, don't remember who the oponent was though. White followed up by playing Be3-f2.

Here is one game I managed to find if you are interested:

You ask for comments, so here goes:
The commentary is a lot of fun to listen to, and informative. I like the star ratings.
The idea of doing it as post-match analysis rather than in-game "live" commentary seems to work well.
But if you're going to do a longish commentary (20 mins), maybe it would be more interesting to illustrate a longer game that way? Saying that, you seem to pack quite a lot of ideas even into a 5-minute game.
On your actual comments: I was interested to see how much you rely on memory rather than calculation for the opening moves. I guess that's what happens when you get good at chess.

OOPS I Made a mistake, "Valet" is not the IM I thought that it was. They also have a 5 letter account beginning with "V". Well they did, it no longer exists. Anyway I have no clue who Valet is, my fault for misleading you and any mental anguish this mistake may have caused you.

I highly enjoyed this video. What an awesome win. As you indicated, the bishops were just monsters! Great examples of the power the bishops possess. Wonderful post..!
