I propose a new drinking game. Watch my video with friends. Everytime I say "ahhhh" have a drink! I renounce all responsibility to what happens to you afterwards!!

Target practice! I like the idea of slow positional pressure and gradually increasing your advantage. I played a game like that against a 1500 something in a recent congress major. He got into real time trouble and when I played a pawn push he cracked dropping the exchange to a Knight check and the game was won about three moves later. Think I'll post it. BTW congrats on winning silver medals. Better luck next year. Did you bring those guys all the way over from Egypt because you couldn't get enough players?

Nope more out of necessity. Most of the top clubs have 2-3 foreign players to strengthen their teams. We had only one foreigner for the first part of the league but for this weekend we had to match up aganst Reykjavik Chess Club which has 2 foreign GM's + 2 local GM's so was our only chance to compete with them. Actually one member of our club is from Egypt. His name is Omar Salama and I played him in the Reykjavik City Ch and that video is on the site. He is married to a check WGM who also lives in Iceland (was dating and Icelandic GM) but know they both live here and have a child together. Adly and Baseem are good friends with him so that's why we got them.
About such slow buildup/pressure games. I somehow almost like playing a game like that as much as having a crushing attack and sacrificing something. Just playing a clean game like that just gives me so much pleasure somehow. By all means post your games if you find it interesting!

Is chess like a national sport in Iceland? I think your population is only about 300000 or something but there are loads of titled players. My club produced Colin McNab and Paul Motwani, Scotlands first two GM's and Dundee has a population of about 160000. Are there plenty of tournaments with space for middle rated players? I'd like to visit if air fares are reasonable and compete. Is there an Icelandic chess federation website with English translation. Like to see Iceland anyway and I'll even eat some of the stale shark that tastes like p*ss.

Chess is rather popular in Icelad. We have 10 GM's and a similar amount of IM's. There are not that many tournaments if you are only visiting. The regular tournaments are played maybe 3 rounds a week so could take up to 3 weeks to finish. Most of the international tournaments are round-robins but there is the Reykjavik Open which has had a minimum of 2000 elo thusfar but maybe next year they will have a B-group to accomodate lower rated players, Icelandic and foreign. Icelandic federation is http://www.skaksamband.is and mostly in Icelandic I think.

Lol, -I'm pretty sure he'll whip my ass in basketball.
I agree with what you said about positional games like this. At least from a learning standpoint, I find them more useful and at least as entertaining as your other videos. Silver medal is awesome, late-congratulations on my part : P
