Yay first reply! Game of the unnatural rook-moves... I guess I'm happy you won and decided not to bore our pants off by going on such a doomed attack, even though trying to figure out a good plan would've been the most instructive way to try and win the game. That being said, who knows how many people might have turned off! I mean, it's already tuesday and even though you went on the attack, you still have no replies untill now...

I love seeing your opponents self-destruct time and time again though, so that's great :). Yeah, it's speedchess, but it's so good for self-confidence to see them lose like this, that there's less chance to overrate them while being forced to play them yourself OTB.

I think my attack was a reasonable chance in speed chess. I didn't know what else to do, and whenever in doubt my natural instincts come in and I tend to try to find some kind of active chances.

Psychology in chess is very important. For whatever reason the guy felt when he was up 2 minutes that he was going to win the game, and when you feel like you are going to win, you may start making active moves that justify your feelings, even if the moves are completely stupid.

Just watched the game. Thanks for not playing it safe and choosing to put on a nice attack, even if he didn't go for it. Is that bishop on c6 the Fort Knox variation? Lol, if it isn't I probably sound really stupid. I think my friend taught me that variaton for the French Defense.

I'm looking forward to your videos later, good luck with the US Chess League, sounds like a lot of work but well worth it.

Yes, it is the Fort Knox variation.

To back it up:
This is a game played in the Reykjavik Open 2008 in this variation: http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1487311
This is a game with Tiviakov with the white pieces in this variation: http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1481278
(You can see the opening variation named above the game)
Here is the general search position at http://www.chessgames.com with an overview of all their games in this variation: http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chess.pl?page=14&node=541666

There ya go :)

Hi Greg,

Hypothetically, if I was a hot chck with a nice rack and you didn't have a girlfriend.....would you have sex with me?

best regards,

Ingvar

Thanks a lot, Hiddie. That was above and beyond what I ever expected. I'm going to add this into my training journal and thank you there again 8)
