Well played game. You played sound moves and came out with the win. An interesting idea was to play Bh3 instead of Bg4 keeping him from castling and demonstrating why playing g3 and not fianchettoing is a bad thing. Although complications like that could cause you to take too much time, which is why I don't like Blitz as I think I expressed in my video. I like your analogy to football too, it is quite accurate, and draws another parallel to the fact that a lot of it has to be done by intuition rather than calculation. And the quarterback drops back and thinks "if I throw the ball at 35 mph and he's running at 12 mph how far do I need to... Ow! Why is there a huge man laying on me?"

Interesting how a move as innocent-looking as h3 causes the walls to come crumbling down. You exploited that mistake by your opponent and I'm quite sure your opponent learned a lesson about moving pawns in front of his king, especially if they are unprotected! Nice video and a well played game.

...e5 at around 3:00 was a mistake. All white has to do is play b4-b5, which kicks the knight off of the defense of the e5 pawn.

In reaction to b4-b5, my instinct is to play Nd4 and, after 12. Nxe5, pin the knight with Re8 and go from there. 13. f4 is more or less forced and the computer plots the continuation 13...Bg4 14. Be2 Nxe2 15. Nxe2 Qd5 16. Rf1 Qxb5. Not saying I would have found that during a live game, but it goes to show that Black can generate enough play quickly to make up for the pawn...so quickly that White doesn't have time to defend his extended b-pawn. Another idea I had is to set up a pawn fork on e4 with 11...Re1 and just get the piece back after bxc6. Not sure how good that is compared to the idea above. Thanks a lot for raising the question, zkt5000. -BoyHowdy

Very enjoyable game. I like how calm you are when commenting, it sort of sounds someone at the Houston Space Center explaining a mission on the Space Shuttle to the public, only better, 'cause it's chess! Nice concluding attack. Well done.

I was thinking the same thing sfarmer29, either a Houston space center voice or perhaps Air Traffic Control or airline pilot. Nice game Boy Howdie!

I'm relatively new to chess but at 7:05 wouldn't moving Qd5 create a checkmate and end the game?

White's bishop or knight can go to f3 to block.
