Beautiful game Dennis! Really enjoyed that. I've been playing this opening trick with white as well (Nc3 before playing d4) and so far it's been working out okay, but it's interesting to see how it can go wrong if black plays it right. Cheers!

reminds me of blacks play in the keres attack where he plays h6 and then after white goes h4 he plays h5! to win the g4 square for the knight. the resulting positions are totally different, it's not like black gets a huge attack in this line of the keres, but the initial idea is very interesting... nice game

Hi Dennis, nice video, I really enjoyed this. What impressed me the most is the way you explained how you thought about h3, rejected it and started looking at h4 instead but didn't like that black could answer with h6 in that line which gave you the idea to examine h3 once again and decide on that move. I think in many GM games we patzers never get to see the line of thinking which leads to the decision to play a certain move above another one (let alone being able to think like that ourselves) and just see a move like h3 being played without having any clue why this move and not h4.

So I guess what I am trying to say is, I personally much prefer to see some games like this of your own with your thought process included over seeing some GM games without thought processes
