SJplayer,

Nice game! Missing Qh6# when you're up a queen, rook, knight and two pawns isn't a big deal.

But seriously, here are some random thoughts from the game:

When you played c3, I like Bd3. I mean you played this anyways, but by playing Bd3 first you leave your options open

Also, while a4 isn't bad, I think maybe you should be looking for play in the center/kingside. Perhaps something like e5, gaining center space followed by a kingside attack with Re1, Nf8, etc. I think this might be the right way to play these kinds of positions. Black will be looking to play f6 but I don't think you need to worry to much if you play accurately.

I don't know about Nxf6 later, that seems like what he wants, I think Qe2 is better with the idea of playing Qxe4 and setting up a nice bishop and Queen battery if he takes on e4.

Also, after he plays Bxf6, I think yo umight want to play a plan with Re1, Nf4, and Ne5. Be3 isn't such a good square for the bishop, i'm not sure what it is doing there.

I really liked the move f4. That was good aggressive chess.

However, when you played Qe2, I think Rae1 is better so that the queen will still be defending the g5 knight if you choose to play f5.

After h6 by black, I like f5. Just something to think about. I think it's tactically justified.

Also near the end, why didn't you play Rxe4 after black played e4...seems like the natural move.

Finally, what chess site is that from? I'm always looking for new servers to try out.

Anyways, great game! Keep on posting and playing.

I think that I have to try to make resonable moves much quicker. For instance weather I should play Bd3 or c3 should not take longer then a couple of sec, while I spent like 2 min on this in the game. Bd3 would have been better and I did consider playing it.

I found that I liked a4 in the game since a5 sometime would make his queenside pawns less flexible, but I should try to take advantage of his uncoordination and less space and try to hit in the centre or kingside like you said. The reason I didn't play Re1, Nf1 idea was that I was not sure about it. It looked like he had too many pieces on the kingside for an attack and his g6 knight looked like a good defending piece. I think I rely quite a lot on my opponent to make errors instead of playing aggressivly. So this a long with using the clock better should be good to improve.

e5,Re1 togther is good also because I don't really have to watch out for f6 since I just take if he plays it opening the e-file. So there are lots of good points with these three moves as they constitute eachother well. Keeping the pawn of e4 was still OK I think since I always have the options of playing exd or e5 later. I was very happy when he took dxe saving me the effort of re-routing my knight.

I think Nxf6 strategically was a good move though since on Qe2,Nxe4,Qxe4 he has Qd5 trading queens. Besides, when his bishop got to f6 I thought it looked like a not so good piece there. Also I didn't want to have to recapture with my bishop if he traded knights on e4 since it's more exposed on e4. About here though I was starting to find myself in timetrouble why I played moves like Be3. I thought it was a little funny that I missed mate and lost the game 1 sec later, that's why I posted the video.

About Qe2. You are right Rae1 is more aggressive with the idea of f5. But after h6 by black f5 looks to me to just drop a pawn, or? Ofcourse later I should have took on e4 with the rook but I simply forgot about it.

Thanks also for the very good idea of e5,Rf1,Nf1 and of playing f5!I learned a lot from watching the video afterwards like that I need play more aggressive ideas like the ones you suggested. Scare my opponents a little more without scaring myself :D. The site by the way is instantchess.com and the first 60 games are free. Have a look at it and post what you think. It's very easy to use and I might buy a membership there. The problem is I don't know if any good players play there, if not that's not very fun.
