Here (after 9. Ng5) you thought for a long time about how to continue. You played 9...Bxc3 and played against white's shattered queenside pawns. What about trying to keep your powerful g7 bishop by playing 9...ne5 with the idea that if 10.f4 you can play 10...h6? I think its better.

Steveo44,

I like your idea. I guess I thought 10.f4 would be a problem. But clearly 10....h6 is fine since 11.fxe5 hxg5 leads to a much better position for me. So 9...Ne5 looks like a decent alternative. The idea then would be h6 on the next move followed by pressure on the c4 pawn.

Maybe:
9....Ne5 10. 0-0 h6 11.Nf3 Bb7 12. Ne5 Be5.

But here, I don't really think I have much. Maybe this is why 9...Bxc3 is better. By taking the knight, I create an imbalance which i cant exploit. If I just play 9...Ne5 things stay pretty level and I might have difficulty putting on the pressure. I'll have to look at it some more later, Ne5 is interesting.

Post Very good teaching material!
Found this site right now and I have been watching this video and another. Wanted to tell you that I appreciate your material. Explaining your thoughts when you are playing is very helpful I think.

I started playing 2 years ago and have been playing at a club for 1 year now. I have been improving a lot since I started and my rating is going up all the time but I lack the possibility of grandmaster lessons so I was very happy when I found your site.

Welcome to the forums. If you're interested in posting your own videos, directions are in the stickies at the top of all the forums. It's great to hear people like the videos. I've found that in recording them, although it was a bit distracting at first, I've really benefitted.

I will do that! As you say it is probably quite benificial and also fun to get some comments. Quite busy this week, hopefully I will post something the weeks to come.

Just a question, is it possible to destort my voice so I can be more anonymous, maybe you have a english language "correcter" aswell that I can use when making the videos :D

Thanks!
