Very short game. I was wondering why the video was so short. You should posts the moves of this game in the general discussion forum's beats and brags thread.
Anyways, this is a classic trap. It illustrates one of the key ideas in the Queen's gambit. Thanks for the video!

All traps, well known or not, have important lessons which even non beginners need reminding of from time to time.
1.Loose pieces are targets. Many opening traps exploit the hanging nature of the rooks, in the opening position.
2.Exposed pieces are targets. In this example, black as pointed out in this video, exposed his own rook on the a8-h1 diagonal.
3.Development is more important in the opening than material. After all, material advantage is an ENDGAME winner.
It would be possible to go on and on, but I think the point has been made. Simply knowing an opening trap is not enough. Understanding WHY the trap exists and HOW it came about is what is important. A short video yes, but with much punch, if given enough thought.
Keep em coming!

Hello Skygod68; I liked the video ... knowing the traps is pretty important! This one is simple but it I bet I would fall into it (I almost never play the Queen's Gambit). Thank you for the lesson! Gosh being a biginner I hate to be picky especially with a player of your ability. That being said, I had to watch the vid several times. I was having a great deal of trouble trying to decern what you meant by, "...I fork his Queen and his rook." Obviously, you meant, "...fork his 'King' and his rook." Having said that, the vid was extreamly helpful and was extreamly useful for this beginner. Thanks.
