Post Dragonfly Chess & The Seven Realms of No Return
Hello everyone I am new to this forum. I have some exciting news. I have been working on an online chess and chinese chess concept called dragonflychess for the past few years. I would love any feedback on it but specifically would you play it if I built it. Currently I am working on funding this game at this url: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/103 ... -no-return here you can see a video of the concept. You can also see screens on my facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/PaulLorenceDragonflyChess I am working hard to engage the chess community because I believe this game would be a blast to play and hope you do to. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

The art is very nice but the game itself does not get me very interested. I myself would like to play 16x16 chess. Also your voice really is not good enough for a promotion video. You should have at least been more enthusiastic about it. The fake story on chess did not help either.

Hey FirePowah...thanks for your reply. Coming from an International Master your opinion on what I am creating goes along way. I see your comment on your preference to play 16x16 chess and for the record in this concept I have conceived you would first choose your weapon: Chess on a 8x8 grid or Chinese Chess which is similiar but played on a 8x9 grid. I agree on the voice over as that is not what I do for living. But for now it must do until I get the funding I need to make this all real. Sorry you didn't enjoy the story. Clearly this game is not for everyone. Thanks again!

Hey thanks detroitman! I appreciate the feedback. What should really make this game fun is when you play through the storyline you will have the ability to unlock certain variants of chess and chinese chess like the ability to play multiple players with one clock or just have two clocks that have different start times on them or set a cap on the number of moves a person a make in the game total and so forth. Then you can combine them in any way you choose for more points and a greater challenge. My take is that it must be lonely at the top of the chess world with fewer and fewer players capable of giving the very high ranking masters a challenge. Dragonfly Chess might just be the ticket. Imagine a International Grand master playing two masters back to back with one clock and a whole bunch of spectators watching it! I think that would be fun to watch and play. Don't you?

What I would really like to do is find a way to test the game on the chess market to see if they would play it if I built it. But the truth is their just might be no way of knowing. Anyhow, any advice on how to engage the chess community to view a new storyline game play video I am working on would be greatly appreciated from anyone out there. Thanks!
