Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
Kind of silly, my opponent played way to fast. For good measure: I am playing white. But I guess the lesson to be learned is that greed is NOT good What do you think of the 14. Bf4 sacrifice? Too obvious?

I not worthy, I'm not worthy! you come up with pretty intense games.

Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
I think 17.Nh6+ leads to a pretty forced mate, but I don't have time to check all the variations. Something like: 17.Nh6+ Kh8 (17...gxh6 18.Qg4#) 18.Bxg7+ Kxg7 19.Qg4+ Kh8 (18...Kxh6 19.Rf5 seems unstoppable) 20.Nxf7+ Rxf7 20.Rxf7 Rg8 21.Qd7 and it isn't clear how Black can avoid being checkmated, even after 21...Ne7 22.Rxe7 Bxe7 23. Qex7 since either 24.Qf6+ or 24.Qe5+ looks devastating and the White rook on d1 can now get to d7 or d8. Of course, that's a lot to see in a blitz game... One might just have to play 17.Nh6+ on intuition and hope for the best, since Black's king has almost no defenders over there... Alas, if 17.Qg4 then 17...f6 kills all White's fun...

Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
Not sure what you mean, Wildman, sorry. It's forced mate after 17. Qg4, as played in the game. 17..f6 doesn't stop it.

You're right... Duh! Call it a case of chess blindness...

Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
Ah you're right, that is annoying, I thought I'd played it pretty accurately but obviously not...
