Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
Well played sir! Of course, and not to take anything from your achievement, patzers have been falling into this trap since Greco's day- I've had this exact game a number of times. It never fails to amuse, however. -Thanks

I guess we could call this the Damiano Variation of the Philidor... Another gift that keeps on giving...

Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
Yep Whenever I see 3... Bg4 I can't help but smile. It's like the draw is in hand at the very least, as early as move three. Though I had to learn the hard way that 6...Qf6 must be respected as a playable - though not brilliant - line, and that you can't blow black off the board as quickly as in the 6...Nf6 'Opera' variation. After seeing the Opera game for the first time I kind of thought that it was a case of white to move and win on move 4, which isn't quite accurate.

Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
I manage to come up with a pair
mainly of my 20 moves or less are resignations and almost none are hard trapping checkmates - in both cases it's a queen+fianchtto'd bishop way out there that provide killer support all the way since the far end of the board - so that's perhaps why it worked - and my opponent regularly blunder with a piece.
analysis reliable Chess by irving Chernev, and he's got a lot of them too regularly with kingside attacks that weaken the pawn structure and then tear it apart -
anyways - fianchetto'd bishop unsafe weapon at lower levels - take pleasure in

Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
kind of unusual to play checkmate in 15 moves on the Black side of a Bogo Indian. 3/0 blitz.

Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
Posting this one anonymously because my poor opponent thought for almost a minute on move 8 and still hung checkmate.

Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
A game I played on FICS, bad play from white, but the final position with the black knights on a1 and a2 is funny
