FICS has a feature that works much like an online satellite tourney in poker. Throughout the day, a mod or bot will start a mini-tournament at given times (3/0, 5/0, 15/0, 1/1, etc). A post appears to the effect of "type "join 1" to join 1900+ 3 0 KO tourney", you join, and then after a certain amount of players join, it creates a mini-tourney where scores are kept, colors/pairings are taken care of for you, and all that. Not sure if ICC has anything like that. I assumed they did since they have more content than FICS. You probably wouldn't be playing all the top-tier guys, but I thought it'd be a neat change of pace. You don't get anything for winning (other than ETERNAL GLORY). Apologies if ICC doesn't have this..

Why would I want to play there, I'm confused?

Man, I don't even know it that is what he was thinking about, so I'll let him reply if I got it wrong. I think the FICS idea came up b/c many of the viewers on cvtv don't have ICC.

Wild happenings in the USCL tonight. Getting exciting as we come down to the wire.

I'm not sure if ICC has it. They are KO tourneys huh? What happens on a draw?

It's been awhile, but I believe you play a rematch, colors switched.

I would love to see a Zibbit- Curtains mini-match with dual commentary. Don't you have a score to settle there? Also with the Salesman though I haven't seen him around lately. Also it's probably impossible, but maybe a simul with some of the Chessvideos.tv experts would be cool too- Calm, Katar, Steve, etc,

I'd do a match with Zibbit sometime, sounds fun.

Also lol at the classical music suggestion. I can do that one time I'm sure.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I'd like to see you annotate some of your old tournament games as White... going over them in my database they seem fairly similar to my opening repertoire and I'd love to hear your thoughts on the various possible lines. Not sure that anybody else on the site cares, since you played e4 as white for a while...

Hi Greg,

Upcoming US CHampionship coverage would be excellent!!

I remember last year, or maybe it was the year before, you did a video where you selected a kind of dream team which was fun.

Anyway, I love your tournament coverage videos and I'm sure the US Championship would be more interesting for you to cover than some other tournaments.

Please please please consider covering this if you have the time/inclination :)

It's so hard...it basically completely takes over my life and schedule when I cover a tournament like this. I'd like to in theory though....

First post. Woot.

Anyway, as someone who just recently discovered this site and has been enjoying the FREE! Curtains vids, I'd be really excited - and quite possibly motivated to buy credits? - if Greg would do some things about training and/or using Chessbase. Seeing as he's retraining himself for tournament life, and he's intimately involved with the US Chess School, I'd imagine he's got lots and lots of things to say to those of us trying to improve.

Or did I miss something like this?

Anyway, thanks for the FREE!!! vids. :P
