I really liked this video because it had a tactic which ended with a Queen win. That was hard for me to see (in fact I didn't see it) because I was too busy looking for mate. Very nice and eye opening. Thanks!

Pretty good video. I really enjoy the enthusiasm in the presentation (no doubt a result of being a minister ). Rene's energy and personable monologue make these interesting to watch, even if I don't necessarily agree with some of his ideas of playing. (Keep playing good AND bad ideas??) Also, a nice trap at the end

 teaching via e-mail
Good morning, Coach:
I've viewed your videos over and over which lead to me becoming much better at this game. When someone such as yourself takes the time to teach I'm so appreciative that I will almost always let that person know how there direction has changed and made better a situation. Coach: Thank you very much! I'm writing to know if you teach by way of e-mail if so please let me know, your videos are very helpful and I always watch them. I stick to one opening and that's the Ruy Lopez until I gain a full understanding of it.
Your Friend,
Darrow J. Pair

Nice sensible down to earth advice. One of the latest theories to do with chess improvement, from academic trials on chess players, is that of "deconstruction". Something similar can be seen in the "zulu principle", which is popular in starting up business books. The old saying "expert in all trades but master of none", I believe offers the same advice. Any player should be able to master the London, being able to contribute his/her own ideas to revealing the hidden secret's to this opening. Just to become an "expert" with white verses the Sicilian would be like trying to "master" 40 or more London systems! To quote the great E.Lasker "truth rarely appears in fine garb". I would also like to point out, that before WWII, that two, I admit rather unknown gentlmen also prefered a Bc4 with white in the London, a senior J R Capablanca and Dr A.A.Alekhine. So Rene, you are in good company.

Dude, love your vids. Absolutely great style.
Note that this is also a common trap in the Ruy Lopez Breyer. Great stuff, take care.
