I'm sorry, I should have set a better example.
Starting at move 10:
10. Bd2? As the idea of pawnstorms becomes important in games where both players castle on opposite sides, it would have been appropriate for White to find a plan involving b4 and a4. Therefore, 10. c3! intending 11. b4 is a great move.
10... g5?! Black either mis-evaluates his winning chances or fails to notice White's dual plans of 11. b4 trading N for B and 11. c3! starting a pawnstorm.
11. g4?? You are right, White's just inviting Black to open lines and attack the king.
11...f6? Two notes here:
a) Fritz 8 says 11...h5 is best for tactical reasons: 11...h5 12. gxh5 (12. Bxg5? f6! 13. Bd2 hxg4 wins the pawn back with a
huge attack) g4! opens lines with decent attacking chances
b) 11...f6? really shuts out (and traps) the Black queen and g8-knight, giving White time to attack with 12. c3! creating a pawnstorm, although Fritz still likes Black better since 11. g4?? was really bad.
The point is that unless post-mortem analysis is detailed, you'll miss critical ideas in longer games when you have more time to think and be detailed. I know you put hard work into your analysis (and spotted the 12. Bxg5 idea skewering Q and R) but chess is a very hard game. I'm not "smarter than you" but using Fritz I spotted that 11...f6? isn't so good,
then I noticed how badly the g8-knight is trapped.
You're right that he probably didn't have a plan after 12. a3, but 12. c3 was the best move... hmm.
Hmm, I'm curious so I'll look at Black's 13...g4 move...
Oh. My idea of 14. Nh2 doesn't work at all (14. Nh2? gxh3 15. Bf3 exposes White's king way too much and White's counterattack in the center or queenside is way too slow), but 14. hxg4! Bxg4 15. b4! should make Black a bit anxious.
Fritz recommends 13...Qf7.
You're right that White "gets a bit nervous about 14. hxg4!" and starts to play defensively.
Yeah, 15. Bxh3?? loses, although... hmm... is White lost anyway? Fritz likes 15. Bf3, but I don't know... hmm.
I really liked the mating attack, but it's nice to find checkmate in every line too!

It really shows how powerful your attack is.
