I encourage everyone to head to the USCL website at http://www.uschessleague.com and take a look at the 20 games of the week. You can find them by clicking on the history link on the top menu bar, and then clicking on games of the week. Then discuss which game you think will/should win, and also vote in our poll!

 just a thought
Hi there Dennis!, fist of all I wish you a much better year 2008, I also say thanks for all the hard work you put in your blog the chess mind and all other chess related activities you are part of, you really make the chess world a much more fun thing to be part of
Dennis I was thinking that if you had these kind of videos recorded at your own video page at youtube (don't now if you have one already) it would be nice, that way chess fans could post your videos mostly everywhere, for example chess.com is a very big chess community now, chess.com has a video section where you can bring the videos from youtube and show them to everybody...
Great video as always!
Take care!

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments!
DeepNf3, your idea is worth thinking about, though I have a few reservations. We'll see.

 Re: 20th Place - Bonin-Shmelov [41:42]
Nomind,
If you're entertained by it, then there's no reason not to watch. You'll learn more from games that are positionally themed, but you can benefit from games like this by turning them into training exercises: stop after each move - even each move from both sides - and try to work out the players' moves and plans. Sometimes there's more than one good move/idea, so you might be frustrated when your guesses don't coincide with theirs, but just the exercise of working hard is beneficial. Plus, you'll have a deeper appreciation of what the players are up to when you've tried to solve the problems they faced for yourself.
