It has to be mentioned here for beginners trying to learn the opening that you must understand moves and not just blindly follow theory. So aleric I have to criticise one of your moves in the opening. I noticed some other errors like at around 31:30 after Re1 black can just play Bxf2+ winning the house. So some tactical errors in the video but I found your explanations usually pretty good for the beginner level.
Normal Spanish is 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 (attacking e5) 2...Nc6 (defending e5) 3.Bb5 (putting indirect pressure on e5 and the centre) 3...a6 (the normal Spanish move, attacking the bishop and preparing queenside expansion) 4.Ba4
In your game black played 3...Nf6 Which usually people play with the intention to play the Berlin.
Here you replied with
4.Ba4??
Which is just a too automatic move. Black didn't play 3...a6 so your bishop isn't attacked so WHY move it again? It isn't doing anything on a4 that it wasn't already doing on b5 so you just basically lose a tempo and yes, black should probably just take on e4 here like you said in the analysis.
So the simple rule "Don't move your pieces twice in the opening" very much applies here.

Hi Zibbit!
Yeah, I watched my video afwards and I not only did a few very stupid things, like blindly moving my bishop to a4 as if he had played a6-- but I consistently didn't see things, both during the life comments as well is during the "analysis".
I heard myself have reasonings that were totally off, and didn't realize it at the time.
Anyway - it was my first video, I'm mostly just testing the whole concept of making a chess video; I hope to become more accurate... Of course, I'm not on your level - so I'd really appreciate any comments, or critics, from you on my games! The more the better!
Thanks, Aleric

Don't worry...I found myself blathering and blundering in the first videos I made. Takes getting used to that's for sure. Another thing that is for sure is that you can't help but improve....only reasonable way to gain from playing on the internet is to analyse the games...look at the openings and see what went wrong and learn from our mistakes, tactical or strategical.
