Anyone can move around a lone king and hope he doesn't get mated?! It takes skill to swindle. And if you can do it, download zillion(s of games) and try it yourself.

the point is that a Bishop + Knight + King can FORCE a king into checkmate. If played correctly, its impossible to swindle ur opponent out of it.

I doubt you know anything about "game theory", but the term 'perfect play' refers to each side MAKING THE BEST POSSIBLE MOVE. While chess has not been completly solved, certain positions have, like for example, B+N+K vs K.

As the position shown is solved, this means that:

(A) it should be impossible to 'swindle'.
(B) if you can swindle, it is not because of your 'great defence', but the ineptitude of the attacking player/computer.

^ this is not to say swindling takes 'no skill', in many positions it does, but not in such endgames like this.

Perhaps we should stop running headlong into a brick wall. We have 1 page of nothingness, off-topicness and no brags or beats.

I'm a GREAT player!

Ok there, the first brag in a page :P!

Then let me post a beat! I've been beaten by Phobetor, cause he has a bigger rating than I have!
I also just watched Curtain's psycho-video and probably have to acknowledge that...

I ABSOLUTELY SUCK AT CHESS.

In reality I don't mean either though, I'm just awfully normal :(...

Congrats Phobetor! And Rau, don't worry, you're still much better than me. :-P

How about this brag: I submitted one of my nicest checkmates I had ever made to Chess.com's Daily Puzzle and it was used as the daily puzzle for July 3rd 2008! (yesterday) :) :P

Not sure if this is a beat or a brag since my play was pretty dubious, but here is one of the craziest openings I've had:

Too bad (or good?) that my opponent blundered a piece, it was shaping up to be a very weird game.

Beat: played 20-30 games of 1-minute today. It's rotting my brain. Never again!

Call me the garbage man:

My opponent was a GM. But the real brag is that I managed to play so badly, and secure the perpetual. And the even REALER brag is that I had about 6 seconds left on my clock when I was playing the final moves of the perpetual and had to find very precise moves to secure it...hooray for the garbage man.

Edit: I had to play 15-20 moves of the perpetual while under 10 seconds on the clock...it was very close! Qd7+ is the key move that I almost missed.
