Thanks for the video, I rated it with 5pts because the quality of the video was very good, the topic was interesting and the positions and your analysis were very interesting too.
I really like proposals on how to work out "thinking processes".
I often experienced such moments in tournament games - just the feeling / knowledge - that the current position is an important / crititcal position, which usually are the moments where a lot of time is dumped. Found it quite interesting to listen to a stronger player talking about that moments.
Good Luck!

Very good subject and instructive video imo. It's not only important for training purposes, also for actual gameplay. Some people get into timetrouble too often and this ought to help them to prevent it. If you're unsure whether to play one move or the other in a normal position, then choose one if there's no major tactical objection to it. You want to save time for the critical positions.

On the subject: it's very good, because this is something almost all titled players know, but below that level almost everyone doesn't know about it. Should be a great help for whoever plans to get better at chess.

Many many more examples are needed for beginners like myself to begin to understand which moments are critical. Too bad this video was made for the short video contest. I think a topic this valuable to untitled players just can't be made useful with only fifteen minutes. What I mean is, unless you already know and understand this subject matter, three examples are not likely to make a deep impact.

With that said, I do, however, think that this video was about as good as one could possibly have made it given the time contsraints. Any chance at all to get a longer video filled with many examples (to help hard-headed folks such as myself)? If so, that video would be one of the very best and most educational videos available on this site.

To summarize: Very well made video with an extremely valuable subject, but the fifteen minute time constraint hampered the overall impact this video could make on lower rated players like me who aren't already familiar with this subject matter.

I am glad you enjoyed the video, and yes your absolutely right about the obstacles i faced with the 15 min time mark. The most important thing to remember is that there are critical moments and moments of choice in a chess game and by identifying them and mastering them you can begin a steady progress towards chess mastery.

But I've got years of training in hide and seek! You on the other hand can't hide that well from the masters-list :). It could be a timezone thing, though I don't remember that we ever talked or played a game on ICC?

Hmmmm... Very interesting concept. I do find I need a good long think maybe 5-6 times a game. I'll have to figure out if those are my critical moments or if I'm just confused as usual... :D Good video!
