Part 2, with a more conservative title!

And yet this week's title is funny too, in a way. Last week the title was something like "Beating the French", when "attacking" it was more apt. This time we're responding - so it's pro-French Defense - and it's closer to beating the Anti-French than just attacking it!

I was wondering why Qd7 wasn't covered in the other video.

I was looking at 6. d3 after after Qd7, but it didn't seem to lead to anything, oh well.

Oddly enough, this line is how I found Dennis' site (I searched Google for 1. e4 e6 2. c4, and his site popped up), which is how I found this site (in the links section of his site).

Very interesting! Could you also do some videoes on Bückers other stuff, like the Vulture?

Emil: I could, but the reason I presented on this line of his was that I played and worked on this variation on and off for many years. Other Bücker lines, like the Vulture, I didn't. Actually, that's the only other variation of his I tried, and although I went undefeated with it in tournament play the last game cured me of it forever. I had what seemed to me a clearly worse and prospectless position, and only my opponent's blunder allowed me to win.

Ok perhaps not much point then.
But perhaps you could do a lecture on other offbeat openings, like "the worst opening in chess" — the latvian gambit. I do not think it is that bad but it is always interesting to hear other points of view. It seems logical to me to fight for the center with 2...f5. And unlike 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 f5 black has not blocked his c-pawn, and therefor can use that too. Also the morra gambit would be interesting.
By the way, your Alekhine lecture was very good!
