I think this happens a lot-- someone plays the theoretically "critical" variation, then blunder in the first move out of book.

That was a very impressive demonstration of the dangerous pieces in the Benoni. You have an intuitive knack for teaching and explaining.

Thank you so much! I play the Benoni as black and usually I avoid the Taimanov through move ordering (Nf6, e6, then c5 in response to Nf3). You did a great job talking about the tactics. The Bh3, Ng4 idea is cool too.

hmmm, this game is now engraved in my memory (as I also play this line against the Benoni). This is a massacre... I won't forget to play Kg2!!!
