Post lame defeat in exchange slav after huge blunder (lol)

I was white, made what I think a great sacrifice at move 15 for the attack but then at move 29 I see my opponent idea but I was on msn and tought ok Ill just interpose my N at g3 after the check that would be fine the problem is my N was on e5 lol Result I lost a game that I would be quite proud to win :)

Move 29 was way too late to recognize the atttack on your King. Taking the pawn at g7 with the rook, even though it threatened the fork on Blacks Queen and King was a big mistake as this opened up the file which allowed black to mate you. Interesting game none the less.

Hard to recognize an attack when I tought to be the one attacking, even so opposite castles not much I could do other then press on

Hi!

1. It's an exchange Slav after move 2, no "Old Benoni"

2. Personally I don't like these infomercial words like "amazing" and "huge". I find them overused in titles. In this instance, something like a "solid attack" and "clumsy defeat" is more like it.

Sorry to vent on you but I find too many people do that. In terms of the chess, seems you did pretty good and outplayed the guy till you got careless. I don't like e3 in the opening, usually people develop c1 outside first.

hmmm got me I had no idea what it was but in game replayer it says A43 old benoni so be it :) For me it was just a very strange colle :) the e3 if I went Bf4 it would be London system right? Could always say in titlte patzer attacks and blunders again but it would be less effective :)

Its all good. I was just saying that when there are open files they can be used in attacks. Keep this in mind when you play moves that open up files (lines) that can be used in attacks on your King.
