Did anyone provide the settings that the Rybka engine was being run at in that Nakamura game?
This is critical info, as anyone knows that even the strongest engine can be weakened with a few important settings.

I can't be bothered going looking, but wasn't there recently a match where Rybka beat a GM giving pawn or pawn and move odds?

I wasn't playing Wesley, I was just looking him up after the game.

I looked up that thread you were talking about (Carlsen computers etc), and you aren't kidding, those guys are buffoons. Anyone who thinks humans will outplay computers in a few years time (let alone today!) is off their rocker. Perfect opening play, perfect endgame play (tablebases), and no fatigue or emotion, no one will beat computers. I wish there were no chess computers it is nothing but frustration to me. I'd rather have the highest level of humans play imperfect, than to use a machine to find all the secrets of the game, it takes away so much of the mystique.

Maybe there is something wrong with your mike, after you clapped (around 07:00) suddenly the volume went much louder.

Top players play the opening better than the computer.

that was some ironic statment when Carlsen and some other young G M`s utilize computer`s analysis to their advantage and specially in opening preperation and finding new moves for them .
Kasparov never did that , i don`t think he would have lost to Kramnik had he done it.

Kortchnoi him self critisized it in the vetrans vs young Gm`s tournament they had few months ago and cheparinov the super Bulgarian G M admited it , and before u guys go rudly tag lol ing other members opinion without providing your own i suggest first u lol at both of your ratings !! that shows how much you know of what`s going on in chess.
