Clearly you should listen to the music every time you play chess, three quick miniatures in three tries, win!

This Beethoven music is perfect !! & with your lovely game commentary is like double dose of genius !! to our ears   .
Who needs to listen to that weak G.M on icc that got his behind kicked arround lately in a famous tournament that we all know about basicaly proving to us all that he doesn`t know what he is talking about when giving his supposed improvement analysis lines of the super grand master games from different tournaments which he keeps falsey at times feeding the viewers of icc

The concerto In Eb (E flat, btw, not E-B) major is a classic. Nice video and fantastic music! :]
The part where it transposes to minor (around 4:10) in the video is just amazing.. I really like these dramatic moments.

Also when you see Op. 73 read "opus 73"- not O.P. 73. Hey if you learn me about chess I'll educumicate you about Classical music :D

Check out Prokoviev- he was a strong amateur chess player in his day. They say that chess and music (as well as mathematics) operate in the same part of the brain, though I'm not a particularly good example.

Loved the music and the new opeing. I'd been playing the english with some success but have always been fond of the colle. Music was fantastic as well. Nice touch. Was wondering why he would take the rook, unless he just missed a back rank mate, but at 2000 I think he would see it. It is blitz I suppose and the other game the guy hung his queen. Anyway, loved video. You're a genius. Also, keep up the great work with USCL and the chess school.

I normally lie down in bed and watch your videos after work, for relaxation. The music really helped add to that, thanks :) Keep up the videos, even if they are just miniatures, always enjoy watching them

Is it not incorrect to call the opening Greg is playing as White a Colle when it is a Stonewall?

They are distinguished by the choice of P-f4 before Nf3.

Indeed... after Rc8 he wasn't going anywhere. 3 Epic fails by your opponents that night, but somehow that completely suits the mood you appeared to have been in (also remembering the maniacal laughter in the vid 455 :P). Fun stuff!

philweb, perhaps it is, but i'm thinking more in the system ideas. they are distinct, but similar in set up. I believe stonewall is one set up he chooses against this particular move order.

Hi Greg, big fan of the videos in general. Love the music too - as a classical music guy I have had the same experiences with music 'guiding' me in chess, and it is great fun.

I was wondering whether you would ever consider playing some games in the 15-minute pool. You'd have an easier time doing commentary without getting killed on the clock, for one thing. Also, from my recent experiences in the 15-minute pool, and judging by the best list, I think you could totally own basically everyone on it (with the possible exception of Hikaru, no offense). I'm sure we viewers would enjoy cheering you on to try to climb the list. Plus it would be good to get some better competition in the pool - at the moment half the time I enter it I get paired 400+ points down. Anyway, give it a thought!
