Doesn't Kramnik's mate have a proper name? Also I can't wait to get the philidor position with a G pawn against a few older guys I play with occasionally, I put my rook on the 8th and they will try all day to win.

Yes it's true, it's called Arabic mate or something if my memory is not failing me. Im not at home at the moment but it might be named in Tisdall's book "Improve your chess now"

This was a really fantastic video. I wish we could replace your pattern recognition #1 with this one in the contest -- you'd win for sure! I really like how you showed the build-ups this time. It's easier to store it in the brain ROM, if you know what I mean.

To everybody: What do you feel like the level of my videos are in general? I usually just mark them intermediate because I feel like they should benefit that range upwards. Do more advanced players feel these are good for them (this and my game analysis and live games as well)? Just wondering what everybody think because I always ponder this when I am marking my videos "intermediate" when I am posting them.

Also what in particular did you guys think was better in this video than in the first one? More advanced examples or showing more the buildup or something like that?

I have to admit, I partially liked this one more because I hadn't seen most of the mating patterns before. That is, I had seen them in games, but hadn't thought about them as patterns, and now that I do, I can recognize them more easily. But for the most part, I liked the build ups much better.

As for intermediate, I think that's a good ranking/whatever for these. I consider myself to be relatively advanced, and I think the level is really good, and intermediate describes it well. I think your personal game analyses are nicely advanced, which helps bolster these pattern recognition videos a lot for everyone.
