"full of Grumish" You australians are so cool! nice video one thing you should have looked at was that if he dropped his queen to your 8th rank it was going to be a back rank mate... he had a chance but he didn't take it...

I believe you actually had a forced mate if you had played bishop g4 instead of rook g4 to block his queen.

You threaten mate immedietly on h2, so he has to take your rook on g2. After queen h3 his only square is back to h1, where bishop f3 is mate.

Something I've that has helped my play alot ( while it is still terrible, its slightly better) is not to only think of your plan, but you have to keep in mind their plan.

Through your naration you talked about your plan alot but you didn't question his plan enough, at least you didn't to us. That will help you overlook things less I think, it certainly has for me.

Another quick note, since it comes up alot, often when your opponent preps for a b-pawn push, with a3 for example, you can delay the push by playing a5. In the game you played a6, which kept a square for your bishop in the corner, but I believe a5 is much stronger in those type situations.

Congrats on the win, and excuse me if any of this analysis is... iffy.
