Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
Sigh. I'm obviously still much much better after 13 .. Be6, but at least it would've been a more interesting game.

Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
yikes! I would not call that a caro-Kann. good job punishing an offbeat opening moves.

The Qd7-idea looks dubious.

Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
One of those rare 12 moves mates with black. I think my new chesscube alias gives people the idea they can just play garbage opening moves against me and get away with it?

Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
One from my new repertoire: a book win against a player rated 330 points ahead of me.
The losing move is taking the pawn on g2 (7...fxg2?? 8.Bxf7 +-).

Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
Cheers Fox! The Pierce Gambit is closely linked to the Muzio... I think the adition of Nc3 and Nc6 benefits white more than black as Nd5 is often a nastey threat.
Here's another from the new reportoire:

Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
A very nice win! I think 17. Rh7+ Nxh7 18. Bxg6# or 17. Bxg6+ Nxg7 18. Rh7# are both a little faster and more aestheticly pleasing, but at that point Black is so crushed almost anything wins...

Re: Checkmates in 20 moves or less
Ah, you're right! That rook-sac, bishop-mate idea is so cool! Not surprised I didn't see it in the game though. Really should have seen the 17.Bxg6 line though as I'd spotted the theme of mating along the 7th and 8th ranks with Q and R. Always room for improvement!
