 Re: What is ICC ?
I have a hard time believing you are a National Master and have never heard of the Internet Chess Club (ICC).... But ok maybe you haven't played much online. It's www.chessclub.com and it's where the best blitz players in the world have played for many many years.

 Re: What is ICC ?
I know this might sound silly, but since Zibbit mentioned it - what is a National Master? I assume this is some American title. Does it mean you have played in the US championship? That is the most likely explanation for the word ' national ', to me. Or is it just some random rating class thing?

 Re: What is ICC ?
For USCF, the ratings are on a different scale than FIDE. Generally speaking, FIDE + 100 = USCF. For ratings under 2200, FIDE is about equal to USCF.
When pairing a tournament, there are a lot more specific rules that favor USCF over FIDE (i.e. give USCF rated players easier pairings).
The USCF has a (rarely used) title system: 2000-2200 Expert 2200-2400 National Master (NM) 2400+ Senior Master (SM)
There's also a title "Life Master" which is given to someone who has played 300 games over 2200.
Generally speaking, an FM will be around 2300-2400 USCF, an IM will be 2400-2500, and a GM will be 2500+ which is in line with the rough conversion FIDE + 100 = USCF.
