Obviously Re8 was better in my post-game, and I noticed a mate I should've seen near the end with Nd4+ Kxd1 Qxe2+ Kc1 Qc2#. That's the kind of thing I should see right away, but as mentioned I let my attention wander a bit.

After 6...Be6, 7.Qb5+ looked good I thought for White:


but actually turns out (with computer assistance) to be unclear after 7...Nc6 and if 8.Qxb7, ...Nb4:




In the game after 7.Ng5:

7...0-0 was a mistake, but you mentioned 7...Qd7 which looks ok.



Here, after 9...Kh8:

White should have played 10.Qh3 (or 10.Be3) to capitalise - but after 10.Nxd5 I liked your 10...Nxd5 - strong and winning.
