Here's a little bonbon of my own. This was a CC game in a theme tournament, so the first real move was 5.exd5... Yeah, I outrated him by quite a bit, but 1700 chess.com CC players don't usually go so quietly into the night.

[Event "Italian Game Two Knights Attack - Round 1"]
[Site "Chess.com"]
[Date "2011.07.15"]
[White "YeOldeWildman"]
[Black "NN"]
[Result "1-0"]
[WhiteElo "2083"]
[BlackElo "1694"]
[TimeControl "1 in 3 days"]
[Termination "YeOldeWildman won by checkmate"]

1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 4.Ng5 d5 {Thematic Game - This is the starting position.} 5.exd5 Nxd5 6.d4 exd4 7.O-O h6 8.Nxf7 Kxf7 9.Qf3+ Kg8 10.Bxd5+ Kh7 11.Be4+ Kg8 12.Qb3+ Be6 13.Qxe6# 1-0

Quite proud of this game! I accidentally lost a piece out of the opening but kept fighting. White just gave me tempo after tempo but I tried my best to attack and I hope you enjoy the mate :D

haha, i think this kind of "accident" is how many gambits are invented.
the story is that the famous gambit in the Panov-Botvinnik 1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. exd5 cxd5 4. c4 Nf6 5. Nc3 e6 6. Nf3 Bb4 7. cxd5 Nxd5 8. Qc2 Nc6 9. Bd3 Nxc3 10. bxc3 Nxd4 11. Nxd4 was invented after (Najdorf i think?) accidentally dropped a pawn, then turned it into a gambit and won brilliantly. lolol

Here's a quick mate against the Gruenfeld from a blitz game yesterday. My opponent could have made it 21 moves long by sacking his queen on e1 (a computer move) but instead he resigned.

Yes, I am aware that 17.Ne5 leads to forced mate, but somehow I missed it during the game.

For more games and analysis check out my training log in the training journals forum (yes advertising :D).

working on sac timing. this seamed ok at teh time but looking back, I could have probably been more aggressive a few moves sooner.

Grabbing that pawn on c3 doesn't seem like the wisest ever decision :)

Well, I am not sure where theory currently stands but 10...Bxc3 has been played at the top level a fair bit, and there is a lot of theory on it. 10...Ne5 is certainly a safer way for black to play, however.

12...Nb8?! was a bad move, but 13...h5? is probably losing for black, although I am not sure.

I believe the most critical variation for both sides is 12...Na5 13.h4 Bg4 14.Ng5 Bxe2 15.Kxe2 when white has a dangerous initiative for the pawn.
