My thoughts on 3-minute games: Are they entertaining? Yes. Are they good for the viewer's game? Sure. Are they good for your game? No, not really. Are they doing damage to your game? It's hard to say, but you certainly shouldn't be sweating the results too much!
One thing I might suggest is talking a little less during the 3-minute games, play it a little more like 1-minute and try to stay ahead on the clock. When you get ahead on the clock, do your best to stay ahead the rest of the game. Once someone gets below 30 seconds or so you should probably just go silent for a while. I think a lot of your earlier videos when you were having better results you were doing a better job of this.
Anyways, I have been having the same issues. I decided that trying to learn openings while playing 3-minute isn't a recipe for success. Just go fast, play what you remember, and check and see what you should have done after the game. This seems to work best for me.
Thanks to your videos and some opening work (obviously more to come) I have managed to set new 3-minute, 5-minute, and 15-minute bests all within the last 30 days (also doesn't hurt that I am Speedy Gonzalez). Anyways, enjoyed the video and the game!
