And thanks to everyone who participated in this tourney, you guys did a great job since the start of the year!
More thanks to gentlewhisper for organizing this tourney! For doing all the pairing and scorekeeping! :D
There isn't as much to say now... As Detroitman staggers his way to claim the crown! Congratulations!!!!
To Flinteastwood, you did a great job in the previous rounds, almost an unbreakable player, but chess will be chess, there is always bad parts to it: one person has to lose. Hope you good luck next time!

Well, for me, I shall come back and continue my 1.f4 rush  (or maybe something else surprising)

thanks man it was tough and I really got lucky on the h pawn endgame. I hope the tournament will be bigger next time.

Congrats to Detroitman on a well deserved win! As far as luck goes, it seems that every chess game features it to one degree or another :) Congrats also to Flint who lost by a mere hair. You two guys definitely dominated the field and rewarded us with exciting playoff games- thanks! :salut: Thanks also to all my opponents for the interesting games- to the ones that beat me, thanks for the chess lesson!; to the ones that I defeated, thanks for allowing me the rare, albeit short-lived sensation of victory.

Great playoff games, very exciting indeed - and congrats to detroitman ! Loved the Grand Prix win, very thematic. Your final loss, Flint, reminded me of my loss against Andrew in the last tournament, where I collapsed after surviving a brutal attack and lost on time in a position that was most likely a draw.

Indeed, the Grand Prix attack was very nicely played. I'm sure I had some chance to hold on, but practically it was very tough indeed. Playing 1...c5 was definitely a mistake ;)
