Hey Greg,

I met you once in AZ a long time ago at a scholastic chess tournament I think (I was pretty young.) My old name on ICC was WhiteHorse not sure if you remember me. Love watching your videos, watched all the 15-minute ones on another site and most of the free ones here, so I decided to buy a few credits and check this out. 8)

Like you said I played weird, opening theory is not my strong point haha. I checked over the game a little afterwards and looks like I was winning on move 41 if I play 41...exf2 or 41...e2 but I was definitely dealing with some time issues. Also, you could have finished me off quickly with 45.Qxg6+ Rxg6 46.Nf5# or even again on move 46, obviously not that easy to see.

Anyways, enjoyed the game and your commentary, thanks! =)

Hey I know you, of course I remember! I always remember you were super talented but for some sicko reason it seemed like you refused to study any openings and I always felt it held you back quite a bit (I think you played some 1. d4 Torre/London/Colle stuff every game no matter what). You had a brother who played also no or am I crazy?

But yeah, no reason with your ability level you can't get above master and beyond, was always mystifying to me when I was younger, because the things holding you back seemed like they should be so easily fixable. I've seen tons of young kids who are the best in the country and based on what I saw you had the ability to be exceptionally good, and I'm sure still do.

Thanks for the support, hope you are enjoying the videos and hope to play you again soon :)

Cool, you have a good memory! I do have a brother, we are identical twins, he used to play on ICC as SeaHorse but he isn't really playing much chess these days. I did always play the Colle back in the day too. =) Like you said, I never put in the time to learn any decent openings unfortunately, just a kid who preferred playing to studying I guess.

I am getting back into playing (and studying) chess again since the online poker thing went down. Maybe this time I will finally learn some real openings. Watching your videos is definitely a great place to start! Love watching the USCL games on ICC too. Anyways, I appreciate the kind words and look forward to playing you again.
