Here is some additional information for those of you interested in these lines.

My videos featuring the Fishing Pole: Fishing Pole Videos - I recommend you start with the Fishing Pole Show Part 1

A great article on Mortimer's Trap and Tony Miles' treatment of the "declined" variations: Michael Goeller's article - this article also links to additional material at the bottom of the page.

Katar has produced some nice videos on the Berlin as part of his e4-e5 repertoire series: Berlin Sidelines and Berlin Mainline

Dennis Monokroussos has produced 2 excellent videos on the Berlin: The Exciting Berlin and The Exciting Berlin- Episode 2

Finally, here is the score to the Miles game I covered:

I like the (surely "Master Game"-influenced) theme tune to this series =)

Thanks Eimaj- but wrote it long before I ever heard the "Master Game" theme. Hey- maybe they ripped me off! :)

Thanks for the vids! d3 is becoming a lot more popular at the high level isn't it? Actually at the London Chess Classic most of the Ruys, if not all, ended up as Berlin d3 variations, if memory serves correctly. It's quiet, that's true, but the Wall is so hard to break that I guess the d3 now seems a reasonable alternative.
