Thanks for the video! Good stuff. It's really nice hearing your thoughts. I've been playing 5-minute a lot too. Although I'm right around 2000, so I only play players your level rarely.

Black's idea of trading on d4 and then playing d5 is really interesting. I never would've considered that, but based on your explanation, it makes sense.

c5 was a really interesting idea. Although it seems like b6 might lead to trouble. I was a bit surprised by Nc6.

After Nxd4 and then the exchange sacrifice, the material imbalance is fascinating. Although black's center pawns are scary.

Seeing the amount of time both sides spent on the different moves was really interesting. That was something nice about doing the analysis in the ICC client. Also the discussion about his massive think after Rd1 was interesting psychologically.

Thanks again for the video. Hearing your thoughts about the game was great. Also you addressed the psychological aspects of blitz in a very entertaining way.

Thanks for the feedback. Qc2 was a mistake, Qe3 was probably winning easily, I don't think he can hold onto the d-pawn.

In regards to the ....b6 idea, this is a typical plan, but I figured it wouldn't be the end of the world for me.

I will play another game now!!

Hi curtains,

Thanks so much for the video. I thought the game was interesting, but like Josh, I really enjoyed the psychological aspects of your commentary as you related what you were thinking. It was a very human video and very self revelatory -- you put a lot of yourself out there and I think that's a great style for doing these things. It's nice to know that IMs have self doubts too, aren't sure what to do with their opening repertoires, miss things, get surprised tactically, etc., but it's inspiring to see how someone on that level manages to cope with all of that human stuff and yet manages to bang out enough good moves to beat a GM while doing it. It means there's hope for the rest of us! :D

Thanks again!

"you didn't know"(I doubt it) how to handle that 1.d4/Bf4 system because you are an strong 1.e4 player IM who only plays 1.c4 in blitz games... that's why

see you around the liberty statue !

lol @ 14:54, "I've vowed never ever ever to use fritz at any time whatsoever."

you've broken that vow like a billion times in future videos

Thank you for the post. Thanks for the understanding. To bad you decided never to use Rybka.

I believe curtains did adopt Rybka at some point. I'm wondering what brought about the change of heart though?
