I feel like Black won this because he tried to improve his pieces and White didn't. Black was a little tied up around move 20 but then you see him make his rooks work, then his bishop, then his knight, while White didn't really make a single productive move with his bishop, knight, or rooks after that point; he just shuffled his bishop around for a while. White's play after move 20 seemed around 1800 level or something. I dunno, maybe I'm exaggerating, but he really did nothing with his pieces at all. I seem to recall that strategy was not Janowski's forte.

You sped past this in the recap, but when you were deciding between 28...c6 and 28...b4, it looked to me like 28...b4 just loses the e5 pawn to 29.Nxe5.

The deal with the draws in this tournament was that if the regular game ended in a draw, they switched sides and played another one, and the second one counted, and the second one is the one that's in the Chessbase database as the tournament game. So you could still see some draws, just fewer than usual.

Oops at Nxe5, I blunder things all the time, no need to be surprised :)
