For those interested in pursuing some of the ideas in this video further, it has since come to my attention that Tim Harding wrote an article for the Chess Cafe website on the "Eliana" Gambit - have a look here: http://www.chesscafe.com/text/kibitz05.pdf. (Hat tip: Vladimir, commenting on my blog.)

The end has a error: some of these moves you said did not show on the board.

Re: Master Lesson - Improvisation in the Italian Game [49:12]
Thanks, I was surprised to see so many fascinating lines, especially the one where black gave up both rooks ( the blackburn mate one if I remember correctly ) And it's a sure thing that for amateurs theory isn't so much important, it's all about possing as difficult problems for your opponent as possible. I'll should try the out the italian game more often. I liked the evans gambit but somewhat wasn't sure how much do I like playing against the two knights defence ( I hope it's called that way ) thus switched to the Ruy
By the way, at the end of the video it just doesn't work for me :( There might be an error. A cool video nevertheless

I think there are some encoder problems. We'll figure it out.

The point of course when you reach a rating 2000+ you decide that you have already seen enough crazy stuff and play 1.d4... which allows white a comfortable edge with less tricks in blacks hands

Re: Master Lesson - Improvisation in the Italian Game [49:12]
Actually, after the following continuation it seems that white is just better...
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 4.Ng5 Nxe4 5.Bxf7+ Ke7 6.d4! h6 ( 6...Nf6? 7.dxe5 Nxe5 8.f4! h6 ( 8...Nc6 9.Qe2+ Kd6 10.Bc4 ) 9.fxe5 hxg5 10.Bg6 Ng8 11.Qd5 Nh6 12.Bxg5# and stuff along this line ) 7.Nxe4 Kxf7 8.d5! Nd4 9.Be3 And it seems that white is going to achieve a clear plus no matter what black plays. So i was wondering what you had in mind against 6.d4

From the link in the first post: "For example, Csanyi-Maric, Vojvodina Champ. 1949, continued: 6 d4! h6! 7 Nxe4 Kxf7 8 d5 Ne7 (Not 8...Nd4? 9 c3! Qh4 10 Ng3 Nb5 11 0-0 and f4 with no good defence for Black according to Maric) 9 Qh5+ Kg8!!"
Unfortunately, 9. d6! looks to be an improvement over 9. Qh5+

and so played........ SO PLAYED WHAT I WANT TO KNOW!!!!! weird ending with you saying stuff and the pieces just stay where they are. still very interesting idea i might even use the Nxe4 idea in a real game. (i analysed it and it wasn't that bad)
